God gave Rock’n’Roll to you!

Gestern beim Sport gehört und vielleicht zum ersten Mal auf den Text geachtet.

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
Do you know what you want? You don’t know for sure
You don’t feel right, you can’t find a cure
And you’re gettin‘ less than what you’re lookin‘ for

You don’t have money or a fancy car
And you’re tired of wishin‘ on a falling star
You gotta put your faith in a loud guitar

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone (oh yeah)
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone

Now listen
If you wanna be a singer, or play guitar
Man, you gotta sweat or you won’t get far
Cause it’s never too late to work nine-to-five

You can take a stand, or you can compromise
You can work real hard or just fantasize
But you don’t start livin‘ till you realize – I gotta tellya!

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul

God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to besung)
Gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to everyone

God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to besung)
Gave rock and roll to you, saved rock and roll for everyone
Saved rock and roll

I know life sometimes can get tough! And I know life sometimes can be a drag!
But people, we have been given a gift, we have been given aroad
And that road’s name is… Rock and Roll!

Ich habe kein gutes Video gefunden. Hier ist der Sound gut, die Bildqualität naja, und das war wohl die Zeit, wo die Herren ohne Masken und Kostüme auftraten. Dabei war das doch Glam Rock, tststs 😉

Amen!

Peace on Earth!

Friedvolle Tage Euch allen!

Everybody says don’t (Stephen Sondheim: Anyone can whistle)

Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
it isn’t right
Don’t
it isn’t nice

Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
Walk on the grass
Don’t disturb the peace,
Don’t skate on the ice

Well I say do,
I say
Walk on the grass it was meant to feel
I say sail
till to the windmill
And if you fail you fail

Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
Everybody says don’t
Get out of line
When they say that then
Lady that’s a sign
Nine times out of ten
Lady you are doing just fine

Make just a ripple
Come on be brave
This time a ripple
Next time a wave!

Sometimes you have to start small
Climbing the tiniest wall
Maybe you’re going to fall
But it is better than not starting at all

Everybody says no stop
Mustn’t rock the boat,
Mustn’t touch a thing

Everybody says don’t
Everybody says wait
Everybody says
Can’t fight city-hall
Can’t upset the court
Can’t laugh at the king
Well I say try
I say laugh at the kings or they’ll make you cry
Lose your poise
Fall if you have to
But lady make a noise

Yes
Everybody says don’t
Everybody says can’t
Everybody says wait around for miracles
That’s the way the world is made
I insist on miracles
If you do them
Miracles
Nothing to them
I say don’t

Don’t be afraid!
